Yoga and Health

The word Svastha in Sanskrit refers to the state of physical and mental well-being and inner calm, inner peace and balance.

Yoga for Health - Yoga for Svastha - means getting into and maintaining tis state of balance, health and overall well-being.

Yoga for Health is not a specific style of yoga. It is rather about practicing yoga individually in accordance with one's own possibilities in order to reach a state of personal well-being.

The yoga classes include simple body and breathing exercises as well as (guided) meditations.

The yoga practice – over time – leads to strengthening of the body and developing of greater flexibility as well as relaxation, inner peace and well-being through consciously turning our attention to our breathing.

Yoga at the registered cancer association
online

Together with the Berliner Krebsgesellschaft e.V. I offer two online classes "Yoga active" and "Yoga and relaxation" for cancer patients and survivors in Berlin (in German: https://www.berliner-krebsgesellschaft.de/termine/

The focus of the courses are gentle, health-promoting movement sequences, a conscious approach to breathing and guided relaxations.

Simple physical exercises are performed mindfully and in the rhythm of the breath. Physical and mental tensions can be released and the mind can come to rest. We practice with kindness towards ourselves and accept ourselves as we are. Yoga practice can thus be experienced as nourishing and beneficial. The result is a refreshed body and a calm mind.

The classes are open for everybody and alternative postures are offered to each asana.

Streaming is done via Zoom.

Wednesday 6.30-7.30 p.m. Yoga active

Thursday 4-5 p.m. Yoga and relaxation
