Viryayoga is a holistic, dynamic and health-promoting form of yoga which focuses on biomechanics. Systematically composed yoga series offer a tough and at the same time fun way to practice yoga that nourishes your mind and body. Each asana is linked to the previous one, creating as a whole a strengthening yoga program. The word Virya is a Sanskrit word, meaning enthusiasm, energy or power, and the aim of Viryayoga is to empower you and to inspire you to explore the landscapes of your body and mind in a playful way.

A Viryayoga class is composed of warm up elements followed by sun salutations, standing and balancing poses, arm balancing and core-strengthening poses, hip openers, backbends, forward folds, cool down and the final relaxation of Shavasana.

You will find these elements in each class and the focus on biomechanics ensures your practice to be as healthy, strengthening and risk free as possible. Over time, possible postural deformities may be reduced and the energy flow in your body will be stimulated optimally.

Each class is also accompanied by a theme that provides inspiration and some food for thought. A theme can be based on anything from a quote from yoga scriptures to an everyday life event or on “simple” things such as breathing, mindfulness, the essence of being. The theme is often linked to the physical asana practice. And last but not least: Virya Yoga should be fun!

Soft Yoga or
Virya Aware

In this class, we practice Virya Aware, which is a slower and softer version of the dynamic Viryaya Yoga. Virya is a Sanskrit word, meaning enthusiasm, energy or power, and the aim also of Virya Aware is to empower you and to inspire you to explore in a playful way the landscapes of your body and mind.

Virya Aware isn't necessarily done in a dynamic way, even if some soft flowing elements are part of the practice. This class is suitable as a basic beginners course or if you have limited range of movement. The classes are always adjusted to meet everyone’s needs and breathing is a central part of the practice.

Also in Virya Aware classes, the practice is designed to be as risk free as possible and should promote health and strength. Each asana is linked to the previous one, creating as a whole a strengthening yoga program.

Yoga with a chair or Virya Grace

Yoga with the help of a chair or Virya Grace is a yoga class for people who, due to age or other reasons, have difficulties or are not able to sit on the floor and hence a yoga mat. Virya is a Sanskrit word, meaning enthusiasm, energy or power, and the aim also of Virya Grace is to empower you and to inspire you to explore in a playful way the landscapes of your body and mind.

Also in Virya Grace classes we follow the Viryayoga principles: The practice is designed to be as risk free as possible and should promote health and strength. Each asana is linked to the previous one, creating as a whole a strengthening yoga program. Also a Virya Grace class is composed of warm up elements followed by simple sun salutations, standing and balancing poses, arm balancing and core-strengthening poses, hip openers, backbends, forward folds, cool down and the final relaxation of Shavasana.

REHA Yoga

REHA Yoga mobilises, stretches and strengthens the whole body through a mindful and slow physical yoga practice. Moreover, we work with our sense of balance and towards the development of a positive body image. In REHA Yoga, effective relaxation exercises are taught in order to help to reduce stress. Simple breathing exercises strengthen our respiratory system and increase the capacity of our lungs.

Through REHA Yoga the whole body gets stronger and at the same time, the mental well-being is improved. The self-healing properties of the body are supported and physical problems and/or limitations can be prevented.

REHA Yoga can also be a tool to implement physical activity, relaxation and a positive attitude into our everyday lives.

Who can practice REHA Yoga?

REHA Yoga  is a slow and soft style of yoga, developed for people with different physical limitations and/or illnesses. It can be practiced after diseases, operations or injuries, when having back problems, suffering from burnout or cardiovascular or neurological diseases. It supports people in their rehabilitation proccess. But talk to your doctor before embarking on a yoga class!

REHA Yoga is also suitable if you would like to practice slow, mindful yoga with the aim to maintain or improve your physical condition, to become more centered and to reduce stress.

You don't need to have practiced yoga before. We work slowly and with the help of props.
